June 16 - Day of Decision II


Day of Decision 2 is the second statewide call to action in which thousands of people across the state will once again take to the streets to show California that the LGBT community it strong and demands our rights back NOW!

Just as promised, equal rights supporters from city to city in California will answer the call again on June 16, 2010 for our next chance when the closing arguments in the federal trial to win back marriage equality, Perry v. Schwarzenegger, are made. After hearing the arguments, Judge Vaughn R. Walker will then have a DECISION to make:

A) Overturn Proposition 8, declaring it unconstitutional on a federal level and giving the LGBT community back their civil rights that were taken away on November 4, 2008 or

B) Uphold Proposition 8, taking no action to remove discrimination & bigotry from California's Constitution

WE MUST ACT! It is vital that both California and Judge Vaughn Walker see the faces of those whose rights were stolen. We need to stand up and fight for our civil rights!

Judge Vaughn Walker needs to understand the importance of the DECISION he will make

Mission Statement:
We are a grassroots organization that provides a safe and open environment for women seeking support and social activities.

Most meetings are held on Friday nights at 7:30 at the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (PUUF). We rent space from the church but are not affiliated with any religious group.

Front Runners North County

North County Chapter

The North County chapter of Front Runners & Walkers – San Diego conducts a weekly walk/run in the seaside community of Carlsbad every Saturday morning at 9:00. We’d love to have you come and enjoy the great sun and surf and camaraderie of the group. You don’t have to be a member of Front Runners to join us – we welcome everyone.

Our Saturday get-togethers start at MaGee Park (corner of Coast Highway and Beech Street). We meet in front of Heritage House on the south side of the park grounds. You’ll see us holding down the park bench just at the edge of the beautiful park grounds.

For those that like the sand and getting up close to the surfers and beach lovers some of us run and walk right on the beach. If you prefer a harder surface some of our group usually walks and runs on the great sidewalks and the beach walk just south of downtown Carlsbad.

The walkers usually go south from MaGee Park down to the parking lot at the end of the beach walk. Runners often like to go on a little farther to the Power Plant or on to Tamarak Ave. The round-trip to the park is about 4 miles and to Tamarak is about 5 miles.

After our run/walk we meet for coffee and talk at the Elyse coffee house on Coast Highway in Carlsbad.

As part of the total Front Runners International organization and Front Runners and Walkers of San Diego we can take advantage of many activities that are sponsored by these organizations throughout the year.

Please check us out any Saturday and we’d love to have you run/walk with us and to join Front Runners if you’d like. We also have a Yahoo Group “FrontRunnersSDNC”. Please join the group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FrontRunnersSDNC) to ensure that you get information on all of our activities.
